Cheryl Odom

Board Member, Alumni Chair

Cheryl has both a BFA in Acting and an MFA in Costume Design from UCLA. She has 50 years of both professional and non-professional experience in the theater and 45 years in higher education. Some professional theaters she has worked and designed for include the Ahmanson Theater, the Mark Taper Forum, Westwood Playhouse, Santa Fe Opera, Shakespeare in Santa Fe, Santa Fe Repertory and Solvang and PCPA Theatrefest.


A member of IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) Local 705 in Los Angeles, she taught at UCLA, California State University Northridge, Loyola-Marymount University, Cal Arts, Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts, the College of Santa Fe, Santa Fe University of Art and Design and Santa Fe Community College.


As a full professor at the College of Santa Fe, her leadership positions included Chair of Faculty Council, Chair of Curriculum Committee, Chair of Grievance Committee and Chair of Rank and Tenure Committee, to name a few.


For 25 years, she volunteered and served on the board of Kitchen Angels, a local nonprofit whose mission is delivering meals to the homebound. Since the closure of the College of Santa Fe, where she taught for 30 years, Cheryl has worked with the local Santa Fe theater community, designing and building costumes and volunteering in other capacities.


In collaboration with Greer Garson alumnus Reuben Greenwald, creator of the #SaveTheGreer Facebook group, Cheryl is proud to be a part of this important chapter in revitalizing the Greer Garson Theater.
